Little Caesars AAA Club proudly celebrates three former players who are competing in this year’s Winter Olympic Games. Zach Werenski, Vincent Trocheck, and Kirsten Simms all began their hockey journeys in the LCAAA program, and their Olympic appearances highlight both their individual dedication and the organization’s long-standing commitment to elite player development.
Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets) played for LCAAA during the 2012–13 season with the 18U Boys team. Since his time in Little Caesars, Werenski has grown into one of the NHL’s top defensemen, earning the opportunity to represent his country on hockey’s biggest international stage.
Vincent Trocheck (New York Rangers) spent three seasons in the LCAAA program from 2006 to 2009. Known for his relentless style of play and leadership, Trocheck’s Olympic selection is another milestone in his accomplished professional career.
Kirsten Simms (Wisconsin Badgers) skated with LCAAA during the 2016–17 season on the 16U Girls team. A dynamic forward at the collegiate level, Simms’ Olympic appearance showcases the continued growth and success of LCAAA alumnae in women’s hockey.
From Detroit-area rinks to the Olympic spotlight, these three athletes represent the very best of the LCAAA tradition. LCAAA congratulates Zach, Vincent, and Kirsten on this incredible achievement and wishes them the best as they compete on the world stage.
