Award for Hockey Excellence
In the 2025–2026 season, the Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club launched a new annual scholarship program aimed at supporting players who exceed the standard of excellence on and off the ice. This effort is part of our continued dedication to ensuring that elite youth hockey remains within reach for athletes who display strong character, commitment, and a genuine love for the game.
Established in 1968 through the leadership of the Ilitch family, Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club has become a nationally recognized leader in youth hockey development. The program has
produced dozens of national championships and a proud list of alumni who have advanced to NCAA, junior, and professional levels. But beyond wins and titles, the Club remains committed to developing well-rounded, resilient individuals prepared for life, using hockey as a platform for personal growth.
Each season, two (2) players will receive the Award for Hockey Excellence worth $2,500. These funds can be used toward team dues, equipment, travel, or other essential hockey expenses. This is a one-time award. Through this program, Little Caesars AAA Hockey Club continues to keep the game inclusive, competitive, and accessible for deserving athletes.
Scholarship Requirements
1. Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be registered with Little Caesars AAAHockey Club for the 2025–26 season
- Complete a minimum of 4 volunteer hours fortheir local association
- Understand awards are based on availabilityof funds and decided solely by LC AAA Administration
2. Application Process
- This is a nomination-based application. Applications may be submitted by non-parentsor family members of the player through the Award for Hockey Excellenceapplication linked on the Little Caesars AAA website only. Coaches, managers, and non-relatives are permitted to apply on behalf of the player.
- Applications must contain:
- Letter of recommendation from player’scoach, manager, or administrator describing achievement and merit
- Letter of confirmation from local volunteerorganization verifying service hours

Note that Final selection will be made by the LC AAA Administration. Recipients will be notified by email and publicly announced via press release and other LC AAA media sources. All selections are final. All applications and attachments become the property of Little Caesars AAA.
